The Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana is a National-Level scholarship/ fellowship program and it is popularly known as KVPY 2024. This fellowship program is offered by IISc (Indian Institute of Sciences), Banglore for students up to Pre-Ph.D. level. To get this scholarship, students must have to appear for an aptitude test followed by an interview session. Every year this aptitude test is conducted by the Indian Institute of Science (IIS), Karnataka to get admission into the Fellowship Research Courses in Basic Science.
The KVPY scholarship/ fellowship is offered for three streams namely SA, SX, and SB for the students of class 11th, 12th, and first year of Bachelor courses in Basic Sciences respectively. Additionally, IISc also offers scholarships, to eligible students depending on their KVPY and IITJEE scores. The shortlisted students will receive a monthly scholarship /stipend/fellowship depending on their KVPY score and chosen stream.

KVPY 2024 Application Form
The application form will be released in online mode on the official website of IISc, Banglore. Here we have given the step-by-step procedure to fill the online application form. The application form will be processed in the following three steps-

How To Apply?
- First of all, go to the official website. i.e. kvpy.iisc.ernet.in and then click on the ‘Registration’ link.
- To complete the registration, fill in the necessary details, such as Name, Contact Details, etc.
- After completing the registration process, the system will generate a provisional credential such as your User ID, Password that will be sent to your registered contact details.
- Now, the candidates should have to log in to fill the rest of the form with all the necessary details such as qualification details, category details, test centers, etc.
- After filling in all the necessary details, candidates have to submit their application form.
- After submitting the application form, candidates have to upload scanned copies of passport-size photograph and signature.
- In the end, to complete the registration process, candidates have to pay the application fee.
- After submitting the fee, take a printout of the filled application form, fee receipt/ confirmation page for future reference.

Nationality- Only, the candidates from India are eligible to apply for the KVPY exam.
Educational Qualification-

SA | Candidates who are appearing in the Class 11th (science stream) can apply for this exam. Candidates must have completed class 10th with compulsory subjects such as Mathematics & Science with a minimum of 75% marks. For SC/ST/PWD candidates the minimum marks requirement is 65%. |
SX | Candidates who are appearing or have completed class 12th (science stream) can apply for this exam. Candidates must have completed class 12th with a minimum score of 60% (and 50% for SC/ST/PwD candidates) in Mathematics and Science (PCB)as compulsory subjects in Class 12th. Candidates must also have to score at least 75% (65% in case of SC/ST/PwD candidates) in class 10th. |
SB | Candidates who appearing in 1st year of the Bachelor’s degree or UG program in Basic Science Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics & Biology as mandatory subjects which leads to B.Sc/B.Stat./BS/B.Math./MS/Int. M.Sc can apply for this exam. Candidates must have scored a minimum of 60% (50% in case of SC/ST/PwD category candidates) in the Class XII examination. KVPY 2024 Syllabus
If you are going to give an attempt for the KVPY Exam then you must have to be updated about the syllabus pattern. Usually, there is no particular syllabus, which is prescribed by the exam conducting authority. Because this test is conducted to test the mental ability and aptitude knowledge of the candidates. Here questions will be asked only from the general aptitude section and subjective part.
Generally, the candidates are instructed to prepare the basics of class 10th, 12th, and 1st year UG syllabus as per the selected stream. It is advised to the candidates to attempt the mock tests and solve the previous year papers to take detailed knowledge about the syllabus.

The admit card/ hall ticket will be released on the official website of the IIS, Bangalore. Candidates will able to download the admit card by entering the details such as log-in credentials. Admit card is a very important document and without carrying it in the exam hall, you will not be able anymore to enter there.
How To Download?
- Go to the official website of the IISc Bangalore.
- Now find the link ‘KVPY Admit Card/ Hall Ticket’ and click on it.
- After opening the link, candidates will have to enter their login credentials such as User ID and Password.
- After login, a new window will appear on the screen showing your admit card.
- Now download it and take a printout of it for future reference.
KVPY 2024 Result
The result for the KVPY exam will be published on the official website of IISc, Bangalore. Candidates will able to download the result after a few days of the online examination. Here we have given the step-by-step procedure to download the result.
How to Check KVPY Result?
- First of all, go to the official website i.e. kvpy.iisc.ernet.in
- Find the link and click on the ‘Result’ section.
- Next, candidates have to fill in all the required details such as Application Number and Date of Birth.
- Candidates have to keep in mind while entering the date the required format should be DD-MM-YYYY.
- After filling in all the details correctly, click on the “Continue” button to proceed.
- After doing the above process, a new window will open where candidates will be able to see their results.
- Now check all the details written on the result and then click on the download button and do not forget to take a print out for the same for future use.

- The result will be available in PDF format. On the result, roll number, the application number, name, and rank of candidates will be written who have successfully qualified the KVPY exam.
KVPY 2024 Cut off
The Cut off of 2024 will be calculated on the basis of marks obtained in the aptitude test. The cut off will be decided on the behalf of the following measures.
- No. of qualified candidates
- No. of seats
- The difficulty level of the examination.
- Reservation policy provided by the exam authority or Government.

- The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in the KVPY aptitude test and interview round.
- The weightage of the aptitude test is 75% and the same for 25% weightage.

KVPY 2024 Selection/ Counseling Procedure
The selection will be made on the following process-
- Written Exam
- Interview
To be selected for the KVPY scholarship, the first candidates have to appear for the online aptitude test. After qualifying this test, the selected candidates will be called for the interview session. In the interview session, the practical knowledge, abilities, and aptitude shall be tested of the candidates. The weightage of the online written exam is 75% and the same for the interview session is 25%.
The candidates are instructed to carry the following documents along with them for the interview session.
- Attested copy of mark sheet of class X and XII
- Self-appraisal form
- Interview call letter
- Category certificate
- Study certificate form
- Teacher recommendation form
- Medical certificate (if applicable).
