Eight startups from SIIC-IIT Kanpur were chosen to be part of a future technology accelerator program.

On January 16, 2023, the Indian Angel Network (IAN) and IIT Kanpur’s Startup Incubation and Innovation Centre (SIIC) jointly launched the ‘IAN-IIT Kanpur future tech accelerator programme’ for the celebration of National Startup Day 2023. This programme was created with the intention of assisting local startups in deploying their technological solutions and making them ready for the market. Out of the startups incubated at IITK, eight were chosen to be the first group to be part of this initiative.

The list of 8 programs nominated for the first round of the program includes Yantram Medtech, Arthavedika Tech, ProPlant, Workers Union Support, Secure Blink, Starwinglobal Era, Arishti Info Labs and Cyber Nexa. This accelerator program is a course lasting 4-6 months, during which participants will receive individual mentoring, gain access to investors, develop business connections and refine their pitch decks for fundraising activities.

The first cohort of this programme consists of eight startups incubated at IITK’s Startup Incubation and Innovation Centre (SIIC).

Rajnish Kapur, managing partner of IAN Fund, discussed the IIT Kanpur-IAN Future Tech Accelerator program. The program is set up to help startups get to know their target customer, develop their product, better their investor storytelling, and ultimately raise funds up to INR 30 crores. There will be eight companies from various sectors, such as health and social impact, in the initial cohort. This collaboration between IIT Kanpur and IAN will give startups access to advanced technology, industry connections, and mentorship from successful entrepreneurs and investors.

Nikhil Agarwal, CEO of AIIDE-CoE, expressed his congratulations to the eight startups selected for the IAN-IIT Kanpur Accelerator Program. He believes that the program will provide them with invaluable insight into two of India’s premier entrepreneurial ecosystems – Indian Angel Network and IIT Kanpur. He has high expectations for these startups, and believes that such collaborations can have a transformative effect on Indian startups and aid them in their journey to becoming successful businesses.
