On 15 August 2022, the Indian army, freedom fighters (alive and deceased), and the culture and history of the country will be honored. In 2021, Prime Minister Narendra Modi initiated the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, a 75-week festival, to commemorate the occasion. The event began on 12 March 2021 at Sabarmati Ashram, the same day Mahatma Gandhi had started his Dandi Yatra from the same place back in 1930. This Mahotsav marks the beginning of Indians’ journey to reclaim their self-respect and self-reliance. The festival will last for 75 weeks and come to a close on 15 August 2023.

The Har Ghar Tiranga, Har Din Tiranga Campaign 2022

The Har Ghar Tiranga, Har Din Tiranga campaign is aimed at encouraging citizens of India to foster a sense of patriotism and love for their country through displaying the national flag in their homes 365 days a year. This is a great way to continuously remind individuals of the nation’s vibrant spirit, unity and diversity. To commemorate the 75th Independence Day, the campaign is urging citizens to join in a mass movement by raising the tricolour flag in their homes and changing their social media profile pictures to an image of the Indian flag. Previously, the flag was only permitted to be flown from sunrise to sunset, however this year, people are allowed to fly the flag all day long.

The Flag Code for Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav 2022
