Village Engineers programme to be rolled out in Gujarat soon

The Center announced on Saturday that Gujarat will soon implement the village engineers program, which will provide training in a variety of skills to tribal youth so they may take part in economic activities in their respective districts. Rajeev Chandrasekhar, the minister of state for skill development and entrepreneurship, met with members of parliament and ministers from Gujarat on Friday to discuss how to provide tribal youth with focused skill-building opportunities in their communities to lessen the draw toward migration.

The “Village Engineers” initiative, which will be implemented in the state soon, was the subject of the discussions, which were held yesterday as part of the “Skill Samwaad” series, according to the statement.

According to Chandrashekhar, the programme will train tribal youngsters in a variety of skills so they may take part in the local economic activity. To carry out the initiative, the State government and the Center must work in unison, he continued. Opportunities in the production of electric vehicles (EVs), drones, organic foods, mangoes, textiles, and other items were explored, according to the statement. To develop the tribal young by giving them a variety of skills, Madhya Pradesh recently began the village engineer programme. The initial group of village engineers has also received certification as recognition.
