The Surana group of schools said on Saturday that it has signed an agreement with High Tech High School, a US-based institution, to establish an international school in the city for an investment of over Rs 100 crore. High Tech International School, San Diego founding director Brett W. Peterson and Minister for Higher Education K. Ponmudy unveiled a plaque commemorating the opening of the new international school here recently in the presence of Hinduja Group Chairman Gopichand.
According to a press release, the Surana Foundation “aims to make quality education accessible to everyone, regardless of their means,” with a total expenditure of nearly Rs 100 crore on the school’s infrastructure and facilities.

According to the press release, the school “provides sufficient possibilities to explore their interests” and is outfitted with cutting-edge technology and design facilities that include laser cutting and printing capabilities. 53 percent of students in Tamil Nadu pursue higher education, making it one of the best states in the nation, according to Ponmudy. He was reported in the release as adding, “We should primarily focus on integrating foreign standards into our educational system to achieve significant achievement.”

Anand Surana, a correspondent for Surana Schools, said “We intentionally chose to depart from the usual Indian school paradigm. The school’s cutting-edge curriculum focuses on project-based learning and cross-disciplinary teamwork in an effort to revolutionise the way students learn.”

“We want pupils to have a remarkable educational experience at this institution. Any educational technology that is adopted in America or Europe will likely be implemented at Surana High Tech “said he. The school has been created to be on par with the international schools and would be staffed by qualified expatriate instructors. According to the press release, the school will start offering high school courses in the upcoming academic year. It now offers instruction up to class 5.
