The Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA) national chairman, Rohan Krishnan, stated that the Supreme Court is likely to review the appeal for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-postgraduate (NEET PG 2023) on either Monday or Tuesday. Although numerous people have been asking for a 2-3 month delay of the exam on Twitter, the health minister Mansukh Mandaviya revealed to the Lok Sabha that such a postponement will not be happening. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), though, did extend the cut-off date for MBBS internships to August 11 to prevent those who are eligible from being barred from the medical entrance test.
The Telangana High Court recently refused a request to postpone the National Medical Commission (NMC) NEET PG 223 exam, however, they proposed that the NMC should reconsider the exam date. The Chairman of FAIMA National tweeted that if the FMGE exam can be moved 15 days ahead of the scheduled date due to elections, then NEET PG should be postponed taking into account the valid cause.
In the middle of November, the National Board of Examinations (NBE) announced that the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) which was scheduled for December 4th had to be postponed. They have now rescheduled it for January 20th.
Rohan Krishnan asked the health minister to consider the requests for postponing NEET PG 2023 once again. He said that the FAIMA has planned to submit a joint representation of all major organizations to the Prime Minister’s office for the same. Additionally, he mentioned that the hearing for SC could possibly be on Monday or Tuesday, and the exact date should become clear by the following day.
