The National Medical Commission (NMC) has cautioned the medical colleges that if they don’t allow the assessors from the NMC Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB) to do their jobs, they risk having their applications not processed. The NMC stated in a public notice that the MARB had observed some medical colleges not allowing the NMC assessors to perform their duties. “Regardless of the status of any pending petitions or their withdrawal, the assessors will continue their inspection.” “Failure to abide by this notice may result in actions such as the failure to process all of their applications for that academic year,” said the NMC notice.
Medical colleges can email NMC at pg.marb@nmc.org.in for postgraduate courses and ug.marb@nmc.org.in for undergraduate studies with any questions regarding these programmes. The earlier notice published on August 24 was retracted, according to NMC. The notice discussed medical colleges’ requests for non-processing of institutions that had withdrawn their requests.
NMC recently provided suggestions to all medical colleges, institutes, and medical education boards in an effort to address LGBTQIA+ issues by altering the Competency-Based Medical Education (CBME) curriculum. The recommendations included changes to the skills of psychiatric and forensic medical themes.
