Know changes introduced this year for GATE 2023

On gate.iitk.ac.in, the Indian Institutes of Technology, Kanpur, has posted the official GATE 2023 announcement. IIT Kanpur has made numerous adjustments to the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2023 exam cost, exam locations, and other factors this year. All the modifications made to the IIT Kanpur GATE 2023 exam are listed here for candidates to review.

GATE 2023 Exam Date

Beginning on August 30, IIT Kanpur will accept registrations for GATE 2023. September 30 is the last day to submit an application for the GATE exam 2023 without paying a late fee. The GATE exam will be held on February 4, 5, 11, and 12. On January 3, the admission card for the GATE exam 2023 will be released. The following list outlines the modifications made to the GATE 2023 exam this year.

GATE 2023 application fee

IIT Kanpur has raised the GATE 2023 exam application cost this year. For all category candidates, the GATE 2023 application cost has doubled. The GATE 2023 application cost has gone up in comparison to last year by Rs 100 for female students, Rs 100 for SC/STPwD candidates, and Rs 2000 for all other candidates. The table below lists the updated GATE 2023 application fee.

GATE 2023 exam centres

IIT Kanpur has reduced the number of GATE 2023 exam cities this year, similar to last year. All zones except IITB have fewer GATE 2023 exam locations. Candidates can refer to the table below for more information.

GATE 2023 exam timings

Every day, there are two shifts for the GATE exam. Shift 1 is held from 9 AM to 12 PM, and shift 2 is held from 2 PM to 5 PM, following last year’s trends. IIT Kanpur will administer the shift 1 exam from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM and the shift 2 exam from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM, in accordance with the GATE 2023 notice.

About GATE exam

“Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering” is GATE’s full name. The exam is held to select a smaller pool of applicants for admission to PG engineering programmes. Scores from the GATE test may also be used for PSU hiring.
