On Tuesday, Delhi University held a “Kavi Sammelan” to commemorate the 76th Independence Day. As part of a series of events celebrating the institution’s 100th anniversary and the “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav,” an event called “Jara Yaad Kro Kurbani” (remember the sacrifice) was held in the convention hall of the Vice Regal Lodge of the university.

Vice-chancellor Yogesh Singh presided over the conference, while chief guest Jagdish Mittal, the national president of the Rashtriya Kavi Sangam, marked the occasion.

The University Grants Commission (UGC) had encouraged all universities to raise awareness of the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign among students, employees, and other stakeholders in order to make it a success. The centre started the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign to encourage people to fly the Indian flag at their homes to commemorate 75 years of Indian independence.
