The Young Innovators Programme (YIP) 2022, which aims to honour the inventiveness of kids in classes 8 to 10, was unveiled by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur on Friday. Beginning on September 5, YIP round one registration will be open. Students who are interested can apply at yip.iitkgp.ac.in. The YIP 2022 was created to support an innovative culture among students interested in science and technology at a very early stage of their academic careers.

Students must submit a thorough report (maximum of 10 pages) in Round 1 of the YIP outlining how their model or idea works on the selected theme. According to the statement, students can work in groups of two or three and will be evaluated on ideation, research, feasibility, cost of construction, portability, authenticity, and originality. The results will be available on the IIT Kharagpur website for students to view. Additionally, students will have the chance to explore IIT Kharagpur’s campus and chat with eminent professors.

Amit Patra, director of IIT Kharagpur, said, “India is the country of the youth where constant inventions from the remotest regions, can address the difficulties that the society faces today,” in a speech to the young students at the event. The youth of this nation shall lead it ahead down the path of Atmanirbhar Bharat as the inheritors of the Aspirational India. I extend an invitation to everyone to take part in this initiative to encourage the spirit of invention, creativity, and inclusivity.
