According to the DUTA, hundreds of teachers protested at Jantar Mantar on Wednesday in support of ad hoc teachers employed by several Delhi University colleges.
Professor AK Bhagi, president of the Delhi University Teachers Association (DUTA), emphasised that the retention of current ad hoc or temporary teachers will be a step toward restoring equality, the dignity of teachers, and the preservation of the standard of higher education at the University of Delhi.
The working ad-hoc teachers of Delhi University should be absorbed by a one-time bill or regulation that the central government submits to Parliament, according to DoPT guidelines and a 200-point roster, Bhagi suggested. Professor Pradeep Kumar, vice president of the DUTA, and Dr. Surender Singh, secretary, asked that the University Grants Commission (UGC) quickly implement the findings of the anomaly committee report in order to provide teachers with relief and reinstate the previous pension system.
