Despite the current economic downturn, IIM Bangalore achieved a 100% job placement with 606 offers.

The 2021-23 batch of students at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIM-B) who were pursuing the Post Graduate Programme (PGP) and PGP in Bachelor of Arts (BA) have concluded their final and lateral placements. Across the two day placement process, 512 students were offered a total of 606 jobs.

Sector-wise IIM Bangalore placement

Consulting

Accenture was the top recruiter, making 32 offers, followed by Boston Consulting Group with 26 offers. Other companies making offers included Bain & Company, Tata Consultancy Services, McKinsey & Company, Kearney, Ernst & Young, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Alvarez & Marsal, Oliver Wyman, Deloitte, Monitor Deloitte, Strategy& Middle East, GEP Consulting, Samagra Consulting, Strategy & India and Arthur D. Little, with a total of 221 offers given.

Information Technology and product management

Leading organizations in the IT and Product Management field included Paytm, Microsoft, Cogoport, Jio Platform, NatWest Group, Cisco, Amagi, BrowserStack, Tata Play, Zomato (3), Myntra (2), and ZEE Entertainment.

Finance

The Finance sector received 75 proposals from banks like Kotak Mahindra Bank, Avendus Capital, Citi Bank, IDFC First Bank, Piramal Retail Finance, Barclays, HSBC Bank, Essar Capital, ICICI Bank, Standard Chartered, as well as 16 more offers from other financial institutions.

General Manager position

Adani Group and Vedanta were the top recruiters, giving 8 offers each, with 86 students being hired in the general management position. Other companies that took part in the recruitment process included Lodha Group, DTDC, Brillio, CK Birla, RPG Group, Tata Steel, Capgemini, Infosys Europe, NPCI, Reliance Industries, Tata Administrative Services, and Bajaj Finserv.

Sales and marketing

67 job opportunities were offered to students in the sales and marketing field, and they were hired by prominent companies, including Asian Paints, Samsung India, Navi, Nestle, ITC, Procter & Gamble., Coca-Cola, Haleon, HCCB, IBM, Mastercard, Tata Steel, Wipro Consumer Care, Airtel, Dabur, Hindustan Unilever, Kimberly Clark, and Philips India.

Operation and analytics

A total of 50 job offers were made in the operation and analytics sector, with 35 of them being in the operations domain. Companies such as Cogoport, OLA Electric, Uber, NatWest Group, Delhivery and Five Holdings were amongst the employers. For the analytics sector, American Express led the way with 16 offers, followed by EXL Services, Capital One, Cargill and JPMC.

Debolina Dutta, Chairperson of the IIMB and Career Development Services, commented on pre-placement offers, stating that despite a weakening economy, many esteemed companies extended offers to their students after their summer internships, highlighting the quality and aptitude of the students. She is sure they will excel and bring glory to the institute.

Bhagyalaxmi, Manager of Career Development Services, discussed the international involvement in this year’s IIMB placements, informing that organizations from Europe, Dubai, and Singapore provided offers in Consulting, Finance, and Business Strategy roles.
