Chitkara University selected as nodal centre for Smart India Hackathon 2022 hardware edition

The hardware edition of the Smart India Hackathon 2022 will be facilitated by Chitkara University as a nodal centre. The ministry of home affairs is presenting problem statements at the institution. The innovation cell of the ministry of education is coordinating SIH 2022. (MIC).

The hardware edition will have 15 teams and 105 people battling against three problem statements from a single ministry. The winning sum for each problem statement is Rs 1 lakh. Three prizes totalling Rs 1 lakh, Rs 75,000, and Rs 50,000 will be awarded to the top teams in the student innovation category.

The Smart India Hackathon is held at different nodal centres each year, with chosen student teams, business representatives, design mentors, and judges travelling to the designated physical locations. The grand conclusion of the Smart India Hackathon 2022 programme, a national project that gives students a platform to address problems they encounter on a daily basis, featured a speech from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Everyone was invited to the function by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. At the event, the qualifiers for the Smart India Hackathon 2022 presented their brand-new, cutting-edge projects.

The ministry of education’s innovation cell launched the Smart India Hackathon (SIH) as a national project to give students a forum to address urgent issues facing the executive branch, various ministries, departments, businesses, and other organisations.

The hardware and software grand finales of the Smart India Hackathon are slated for August 25–29 and August 25–26, respectively. Ministries, departments, PSUs, and private organisations have all contributed a lot of problem statements. 62 organisations submitted 476 problem statements for SIH 2022. The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the innovation cell of the ministry of education have designated a number of higher educational institutions or incubators in various cities as nodal centres. Student teams work nonstop during the SIH grand finale under the direction of mentors and business or ministry leaders to develop practical answers to chosen issue statements.
