According to Examination Controller Sanyam Bhardwaj, the Central Board of Secondary Education would not provide merit lists for the class 10 and 12 exams in order to prevent “unhealthy competition” among students. Since exams could not be held owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, results were announced based on an alternative assessment scheme in 2020 and 2021, and the CBSE did not release merit lists for those years.

“No merit list will be released, as the board already decided, in order to prevent unhealthy student competitiveness. Additionally, the board does not give its students first, second, and third division awards “explained Bhardwaj. He continued, “The board will award merit awards to 0.1% of students who have earned the top grades in subjects.”

On Friday, the results for the classes 10 and 12 examinations in 2022 were released. 94.40% of students passed the Class 10 exam, whereas just 92.7% passed the Class 12 exam. In Class 12, 33,432 students earned above 90%, while 1,34,797 kids scored above 95%. In Class 10, 64,908 candidates received scores of at least 95%, while 2,36,993 received scores of at least 90%.
