On Sunday, an 18-year-old student from Ahmedabad studying BTech (Chemical) course at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay, located in Powai area, reportedly committed suicide by leaping off the seventh floor of a hostel building on the campus. Security guards discovered the body in a pool of blood and there was no suicide note left behind. It appears that the student jumped from the refuge area of the hostel.

Senior Police Inspector Budhan Sawant declared that, based on the initial data, they have recorded a mischance death case. Further examination is in progress. Recently, a student from IIT Delhi tragically passed away in an accident outside the college grounds. Ashraf Nawaz Khan, one of the students, passed away due to his wounds, while another student, Ankur Shukla, is currently receiving medical attention for his injuries, according to the statement.
