UPSC CAPF 2022: Union Public Service Commission has released its Recruitment calendar for the year 2022 which consists of dates of all the exams conducted by it.

The Union Public Service Commission will conduct CAPF, also known as Central Armed Police Forces Assistant Commandant (CAPF AC). The UPSC CAPF AC 2022 is a national-level common entrance examination.

Every year, this exam is held for those who want to join the military as an Assistant Commandant. The Assam Rifles (AR), the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), the Border Security Force (BSF), the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), the National Security Guard (NSG), the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), and the Sashastra Seema Bal are all options for qualified candidates (SSB). Candidates who are interested can apply online.

UPSC CAPF 2022 Eligibility Criteria

Exam officials establish some eligibility criteria to ensure that candidates meet all of the requirements. Nationality, age limit, age relaxation, and educational qualification are all criteria for eligibility. The following are a few of them:

Nationality

  • A candidate must be either an Indian citizen, or
    a Bhutanese subject, or
  • a Nepalese subject, or
  • a Tibetan refugee came to India before the 1st of January 1962, with the intention of settling permanently
  • a person of Indian ancestry who has relocated permanently from Sri Lanka, Burma, Pakistan, and the East African countries of Malawi, Zaire, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Kenya, Zambia, and Ethiopia, or Vietnam.

Gender Criteria

The UPSC CAPF 2022 exam is open to both male and female candidates.

Educational Qualification

A graduate degree in any discipline from a recognised university, or any equivalent qualification recognised by the Central Government, is required of the candidate.

Age Limit

The candidates should be between the ages of 20 and 25. The applicant must have been born between August 2, 1994, and August 1, 1999. The following candidates, however, are given some leeway:

UPSC CAPF Application Form

The CAPF 2022 application form will be released on the official website.

The application fees can be paid by Visa/RuPay/Credit/Master/Debit Card, Net Banking, and Bank Challan both offline and online. Male OBC and General category candidates must pay Rs. 200 for the application form, whereas ST/SC and female candidates are not required to pay.

Steps to Apply for UPSC CAPF 2022

Candidates can apply online for the UPSC CAPF recruitment 2022. The following are the steps to apply online for UPSC CAPF 2022:

Step 1: Go to upsconline.nic.in, which is the official website.
Step 2: Go to the ‘ONLINE APPLICATION FOR VARIOUS UPSC EXAMINATIONS’ link and click it.
Step 3: Click on the link ‘Part-I Registration’ in the row containing the UPSC CAPF exam.
Step 4: Fill in the candidate’s basic information, such as name, date of birth, parents’ names, address, category, phone number, and email address. After you’ve completed all of the fields, click the Submit button.
Step 5: You’ll get a one-of-a-kind Registration Number. You will be taken to a different page. Now go to the Part-II registration page and log in with your credentials.
Step 6: Make an online payment for the application fee.
Step 7: Complete the application form by providing additional personal, educational, and other information. Scanned copies of the photo, signature, and other documents should be uploaded.
Step 8: After completing Part II, check the box next to “I Agree to the Declaration” and submit the application form.
Step 9: Print out the completed application form for future use.

All male candidates in the General category must pay an application fee of INR 200. The fees are waived for female candidates and male candidates from the SC/ST categories.

Documents Required to apply for UPSC CAPF Exam

During the registration process, candidates must upload scanned images of the following documents:

  • Candidate’s recent Photograph
  • Signature

Candidates must submit images in a specific format as specified by the conducting authority, the UPSC. The following is the format:

  • The scanned photo should be free of any imperfections and, ideally, have a white background.
  • The signature should be made with a black ball pen on white paper, and the signature should be visible in the image. The file should be saved as a JPG.
  • The scanned files should be between 20 and 300 KB in size.

UPSC CAPF 2022 Exam Pattern

The UPSC CAPF Exam is divided into three stages, each of which assesses a candidate’s ability to serve as an officer in the CAPFs. Written exams, physical tests, and an interview/personality test are the three stages. Two papers make up the written exam. The following is the exam pattern for each paper:

Paper I: The paper I will write will be done offline. There will be 125 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) on the paper, each worth two points. Negative marking is also available. For each incorrect answer, one-third of the marks assigned to the question will be deducted.

UPSC CAPF 2022 Syllabus

Candidates who are taking the UPSC CAPF exam should be familiar with the syllabus. This exam consists of two papers. General Awareness, Aptitude and Reasoning, and English are the three main categories in which the entire syllabus can be divided. The following is the UPSC CAPF 2022 Syllabus for Paper I and Paper II:

UPSC CAPF Paper-1 Syllabus

Although there is no official division into sections in the paper, the UPSC CAPF Written exam paper I can be roughly divided into two sections: General Studies and General Mental Ability. The following are the topics covered in each exam:

General Studies: Indian and World Geography, World Geography, History of India, Indian Policy, Indian Economy, General Mental ability, General Science, Current Affairs.

General Mental Ability: Analogies, Problem Solving, Space Visualization, Relationship Concepts, Coding and Decoding, Arithmetical Reasoning, Ranking, Syllogisms, Figural Classification, Arithmetic Number Series, Visual Memory, Decision Making, Analysis, Statement Conclusion.

UPSC CAPF Paper-2 Syllabus

Paper II’s syllabus is divided into two sections: General Studies and English. The following are the topics covered in each section:

General Studies: Science and Technology, Indian Constitution, General Policy, Environment, Heritage and Culture, Indian History, Indian National Movement, Indian Geography, Current Affairs – National and International, Celebrities and Eminent Personalities, Indian National Movement.

English Language, Comprehension, and Essay: Grammar, Vocabulary, Essay Writing, Comprehension, Counter Argument, Precis Writing, Report Writing, Communications, etc

Note: The essay writing in Paper-II can be done in either English or Hindi, but the answer should only be given in English for Precis Writing, Comprehension Components, and other communications/language skills.

UPSC CAPF 2022 Admit Card

The UPSC CAPF 2022 Admit Card will be available online at UPSC’s official website. The admit card can be downloaded by entering the candidate’s registration number and date of birth. Candidates should be aware that no admit card will be mailed or delivered to their home address.

The candidate’s information, roll number, and exam centre location are all listed on the admit card. On the admit card, there are additional instructions that a candidate must follow.

How to download the UPSC CAPF Admit Card – Step by Step Instructions

Step 1: Candidates should go to www.upsc.gov.in and click on the ‘Admit Card link’ on the homepage.
Step 2: On this page, click the link for ‘E-Admit Cards for Various UPSC Examinations.’
Step 3: The exam will have a ‘Click here’ link under the ‘View Online’ tab. When you click on that link, a new window will pop up with another link to download the admit card.
Step 4: You will be directed to a login page after clicking the link. You can log in with your username and password.
Step 5: Look over the admit card that appears on the screen and download it.
Step 6: Print the admit card and bring it with you to the exam centre.

Note: Candidates must contact the Commission if they do not receive their UPSC CAPF 2022 admit card or any other information or communication regarding their candidature for the CAPF examination three weeks before the exam.

Documents Required with CAPF Admit Card

Candidates are required to bring certain documents to the exam centre in addition to their CAPF AC 2022 Admit Card. Candidates must present one of the following government photo ID proofs:

  • Aadhar Card
  • Driving License
  • Passport
  • Pan Card
  • Voter ID card
  • Any other ID proof issued by central or state governments.

The document should also serve as proof of address. For example, if the candidate’s address is not listed on his pan card, it is preferable to bring two documents or one document that serves as both an identity and an address proof. Candidates must bring original documents as well as xerox copies. Also, bring a passport-size photo that matches the one on the admit card.


CAPF 2022 Exam Centres

There are a total of 41 exam centres across the country for the UPSC CAPF 2022 exam. Once an exam centre has been assigned, it cannot be changed under any circumstances. It is possible that the candidate will not be assigned to the centre that he or she selected on the application form. However, the chances of getting an exam centre that isn’t the one you want are slim.

The exam location will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Candidates are advised to apply for the UPSC CAPF exam as soon as possible in order to secure their preferred exam centre. The candidate can choose from the following exam centres:

UPSC CAPF 2022 Exam day Instructions

  • To the exam hall, bring your CAPF AC 2022 admit card, photo, government-issued Photo ID proof, and proof of address.
  • Candidates are not allowed to bring any electronic devices to the exam centre.
  • Applicants must hand over their belongings to the exam officer when they arrive at the venue.
  • Candidates must take the seat assigned to them based on their roll number.
  • The candidate must arrive at the exam location sixty minutes before the exam begins.
  • Before allowing candidates into the exam centre, the authority will verify their documents.
  • It is strictly forbidden to enter the exam room at the last minute.
  • Food is not permitted inside the venue.
  • In order to sit for the CAPF AC 2022 exam, candidates must follow the guidelines.

CAPF 2022 Result

The UPSC CAPF exam is divided into four stages. The Commission will announce the results of each stage on its official website. The UPSC CAPF 2022 result will be in the form of a PDF document that will include the roll numbers of candidates who passed that stage of the exam. Finally, a merit list with the roll numbers of the successful candidates who passed the UPSC CAPF exam will be prepared.

UPSC CAPF Cut Off

UPSC CAPF Selection Process 2022

The UPSC CAPF AC exam will be divided into three phases, as follows:

  1. Written Test
  2. Physical Test
  3. Interview or Personality Test

The Stage 1 exam (Written Test) is held first, and candidates are shortlisted for the Physical Test based on their performance.

NCC ‘B’ or ‘C’ Certificates

The NCC ‘B’ or ‘C’ Certificate is regarded as an advantageous qualification. Only candidates who have these certificates will be considered for the Personality Test/Interview.

Personality Test/Interview: Candidates who pass the Medical Standards Tests will be invited to an interview and personality test. Candidates who have been declared medically unfit but have been granted permission by the Appellate Authority to appear before the “Review Medical Board” on their appeal will be called for Interview/Personality Tests on a provisional basis. The interview/personality test carries a total of 150 marks.

Quick Note: Candidates who are short-listed for an Interview/Personality Test, including those who are provisionally short-listed for an Interview/Personality Test, will be given a Detailed Application Form (DAF) on which they will be asked to indicate their Forces preference, among other things.

UPSC CAPF 2022 FAQs

The CAPF exam is held once a year by the UPSC. However, the exam process is lengthy, taking more than a year to complete on average.

Yes, the Assistant Commandant is a gazetted officer who was recruited through the CAPF exam. He or she is the commanding officer of a Para-military unit.

The official UPSC CAPF notification does not specify the number of attempts. The upper age limit is the only thing that is set in stone. It means that candidates can appear as many times as they want until they reach the age of 25.

The CAPF written exam paper 1 has a one-to-three negative marking system. It means that for each incorrect answer, 33 percent of the marks will be deducted as a penalty.
