SSC Stenographer 2024 Salary Detail

As per the SSC Notification, SSC Stenographer 2024 Pay Scale for Garde C and Grade D are as follows:

  • Grade C:  INR 9300 –  INR 34800.
  • Grade D:  INR 5200- INR 20200.

SSC Stenographer 2024 Application Process

By following the below steps, candidates will able to fill the form for SSC Stenographer 2024. The application form will be submitted online for Stenographer 2024. It includes the 4-step process as shown below:

SSC Registration

  • First, open the SSC website i.e. www.ssc.nic.in, and click on the “Apply” link for the registration process.
  • Now you have to choose the option for the vacancies of “Steno C & D” and then further click on the “Apply now” link.
  • Now candidates have to fill in their personal details likewise Candidate’s Name, Parent’s Name, DoB, Gender, etc.
  • Enter the same provided captcha code in the empty box and then submit the form.
  • After submitting the registration form, candidates will receive an automated confirmation mail and messages along with the provided credentials such as registration number/ id, and password.

Upload Photo and Signature

After filling the registration form of SSC, candidates will have to upload the documents such as a recent passport size photograph and signature. The details of the format of the documents are given below:

Filling the SSC Stenographer Application Form

  • Now enter the login details and start to fill in the required details for the SSC Stenographer application form.

SSC Stenographer Fee Payment

The SSC Stenographer application fee can be payable in both modes i.e. online as well as offline.

Online Mode: Now for online payment, select any payment gateway among  Debit Card/ Credit Card/Net banking/ BHIM UPI. After choosing the desired option, enter the required payment details and continue to pay.

Offline Mode: For the offline payment option, candidates will have to download an e-challan before the mentioned last date. Now submit the application fee in cash to the nearest branch of SBI Bank along with the e-challan.

SSC Stenographer 2024 Eligibility Criteria

Before filling out the SSC Stenographers 2024 application form, it is recommended to check all the eligibility criteria required to fill the application form. Here are some basic and important eligibility criteria mentioned to fill out the application form. Candidates are highly recommended to download the information brochure and check the eligibility very well to avoid any discrepancies.

Nationality

The candidate should be an Indian.

OR,

The candidate should be a subject of countries like Nepal/ Bhutan/ Tibetan refugees who abdicated their places to settle permanently in India before January 1, 1962.

OR,

The candidate should be an individual of Indian origin who has migrated to India from the countries like Sri Lanka/ Myanmar/ East African countries of Uganda/ Kenya/ the United Republic of Tanzania/ Malawi/ Zambia, etc.

Education Qualification:

The candidates must have passed class XII from a recognized board /institution. The candidates must have to produce the expected certificates when necessary after passing the SSC Stenographer Exam.

Age Limit (As of 01st August 2024): 

  • For the Grade C exam, the age of the eligible candidates should lie between the range of 18-30 years.
  • For the Grade D exam, the age of the eligible candidates should lie between the range of 18- 27 years.
  • For reserved category candidates, the age relaxation will be entertained in the upper age limit for some cases as mentioned below:

SSC Stenographer 2024 Exam Pattern

The SSC Stenographer 2024 exam comprises of two stages:

  1. Written Test (Online)
  2. Skill Test

First, candidates have to appear for the Stage 1 exam of the SSC Stenographer which will be an objective type comprised of three sections and 200 marks. After clearing this stage, candidates have to clear the second stage of the Skill test.

Stage 2: Shorthand Skill Test

In this stage, candidates have to give a skill test on both computer and paper.

For Grade ‘C’, candidates will have to deliver a passage of 800 words in 10 minutes (80 words per minute (w.p.m)), and for Grade ‘D’, candidates will have to deliver a passage of 1000 words in 10 minutes (100 words per minute (w.p.m)).

After delivering the passage, candidates have to transcribe the shorthand passage:

For Grade C: within 40 minutes.

For Grade D: within 50 minutes.

Qualifying Criteria For SSC Stenographer

  1. Candidates have to secure the more than minimum marks required to qualify for the written test.
  2. After qualifying for the first stage of the written test, candidates will be shortlisted for the second stage for the shorthand skill test which is qualifying nature.
  3. The final merit list for the selection of candidates will be prepared based on the marks obtained in the written test.
  4. The merit list for the selection of Grade C and Grade D will be different.

 Marking Scheme For SSC Stenographer Exam

  • The total time is given for stage 1 (online exam) is of 120 minutes.
  • The total no. of questions for stage 1 (online exam) is 200.
  • The maximum mark for stage 1 (online exam) are 200.
  • +1 mark will be rewarded for every right answer.
  •  0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
  • For unattempted questions, no mark will be deducted or rewarded.
  • For the use of every wrong word, there will be a negative marking in stage 2 (Shorthand Skill Test).

  • For the General Awareness section, candidates are advised to read Static GK, history, awards, and monuments,  etc. For current affairs, candidates may refer to GK Capsules.
  • For the English Language and Comprehension section, focus on the Vocabulary part, reading comprehension daily, solve questions related to errors detection.
  • For the General Intelligence and Reasoning section, solve the previous year’s questions and then examine the weak topics. Clear the concepts of weak topics from a youtube video or you may prefer to a book and then again solve previous year’s questions.

  • Open the website of SSC i.e. www.ssc.nic.in.

SSC Stenographer 2024 Answer Key

SSC Stenographer Answer Key will be released approximately 30 days after the examination and will publish on the official website of SSC. The authorities will release the answer key of the SSC Stenographer 2024 in pdf format. Candidates can tally their answer with the answer provided in the provisional answer key to get an idea about the tentative score.

How to Download Answer Key?

  • First of all, open the official webpage of SSC i.e. www.ssc.nic.in.
  • Now choose and then click on the link of ‘Download Answer Key 2024 for Grade C and Grade D’.
  • Once you will click on the link, the pdf of the Answer key will appear there on the monitor screen.
  • Now check the set of your answer sheet and tally the answer with the same set of answer keys.

SSC Stenographer 2024 Result

SSC will declare the result for SSC Stenographer on its official website at the fixed schedule. Firstly, the authority will declare the result for Stage 1 i.e. for the written test, and then after the conduction of Stage 2, the final result will be declared then.

SSC Stenographer 2024 Resolution of Tie Cases

If two or more candidates get the same marks after the normalization then their rank will be decided as per the following tie measures:

  1. Total marks obtained in Tier I/Stage I.
  2. By examining the Date of birth of the candidates, the older candidate will be get placed higher.
  3. By checking the first name of the candidates i.e. by placing their names in alphabetical order.

SSC Stenographer 2024 Selection Procedure

The final selection of the candidates for the post of SSC Stenographer for Grade C and D will depend on the two stages:

  1. Online Test (Written Test)
  2. Shorthand Skill Test

The final merit list for the selection will depend only on the marks obtained in the written test because the Shorthand hand skill test is only of a qualifying nature. But candidates have to clear both stages to avail the appointment letter for Stenographer grades C and D.
