UPSC IFoS Eligibility: The Union Public Service Commission establishes the UPSC IFS eligibility criteria (UPSC). UPSC IFoS 2022- Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility requirements for the UPSC IFS 2022 examination are outlined in detail below. Before applying for the exam, candidates must review these guidelines. Candidates should be aware that if they become involved in any legal ramifications related to their eligibility norms or documentation for any reason, they will be withheld and will not be expected to sit for any UPSC exam.

Maximum Age

  • The applicant must be at least 22 years old and not more than 32 years old.
  • Age restrictions apply to candidates in various categories. Check the table for age relaxations as per UPSC rules and regulations.

Ex-servicemen and commissioned officers, ECOs/SSCOs who have served in the military for at least 5 years. The Ministry of Defence issues a certificate stating that they are eligible for civil employment and that they will be released three months after receiving the offer of appointment.   • Candidates who fall into more than one category may combine their age relaxations according to the exam conducting authority’s guidelines.

Nationality

A candidate must either-

  • Indian national or
  • Bhutanese subject, or
  • Nepalese subject, or
  • Tibetan refugee who arrived in India before January 1, 1962 with the intention of settling permanently in India.

Or

  • A person of Indian origin (PIO) is someone who has moved to India permanently from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Burma, or East African countries such as Zaire, Uganda, Zambia, Kenya, United Republic of Tanzania, Malawi, Ethiopia, or Vietnam.
  • It is critical for applicants from the aforementioned countries to present a certificate from the Indian government attesting to their residency in India.

Educational Qualification

In contrast to IAS, the educational requirements for IFoS are very specific. Only graduates with a bachelor’s degree in the following fields are eligible to apply:

  1. Chemistry
  2. Zoology, or
  3. Geology
  4. Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or Forestry or engineering
  5. Mathematics
  6. Statistics
  7. Physics
  8. Botany

Candidates who are taking a degree exam in one of the prescribed subjects are also eligible to take the exam. If they pass the preliminary exam, they must submit the results in the application form for the next stage in order to be considered.

Physical Fitness Criteria

Candidates must meet certain basic height and weight requirements, and they must all pass a physical fitness test in order to be considered for the final merit list.

  • Lastly, there is a walking test of 25 km in 4 hours for men and 15 km in 4 hours for women.
 

Eligibility for UPSC IFS Mains 2022 Exam

The UPSC IFS Mains exam is an important part of the selection process. As a result, those taking this exam must be well prepared and prepared to face the obstacles of the exam in any way possible.
