How to Apply for UPSC CSE Reservation?

Students must select their category when filling out the UPSC CSE application form. As your submitted category, you will receive reservation benefits. After passing the prelims exam, students must fill out the DAF form before taking the Mains exam. Candidates must re-enter their category and submit the reservation certificates on the DAF form. On the day of the interview, the original certificates will be verified.

Some of the things students should keep in mind when claiming reservation benefits.

  • Make sure you have the necessary reservation certificates when you fill out the UPSC CSE application. If your reservation is made after the deadline for submitting the UPSC form, your reservation claim may be rejected.
  • Check that your reservation isn’t too old. If you are claiming UPSC CSE 2022 reservations, make sure your certificate is no older than 2021.
  • Check that your reservation certificate is in the correct format. The reservation certificate format for the Central and State governments differs; a reservation certificate in the Central Government format is required for the UPSC CSE.
  • Students in the OBC category should ensure that they are not in the creamy layer. Non-Creamy Layer candidates are not eligible for OBC reservation benefits.
  • According to the UPSC CSE 2022 notification, defence personnel should ensure that they have all of the required documents.
  • Candidates with disabilities should ensure that they have the necessary disability certificate. Furthermore, when filling out the service preference form, students should be cautious because some services only accept candidates with specific disabilities.
