A number of factors are taken into consideration when selecting candidates. Candidates for the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Indian Naval Academy (INA), American Foreign Service Academy (AFA), and Officer Training Academy (OTA) must meet the minimum cutoff marks determined by the regulatory body, i.e., the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). It is necessary to achieve a minimum of 20% in each component in order to be eligible for CDS 2023, with an aggregate score of around 110 points in the written exam. Those who fall within this range will be invited to participate in the CDS SSB Interview.

CDS 2023 Selection Process

In order to be accepted into the desired academy, candidates must pass through the phases listed below:

Written Exam

Only those applicants who submitted their application forms before the deadline will be eligible to compete for the CDS written examinations. The CDS (I) written exam is an objective type paper that is administered using a pen and paper format. The applicants who have qualified for the written examination will now be invited to participate in the Interview/Intelligence Test/Personality Test, which will serve as the second stage of the CDS Selection Procedure after they have completed the written examination.

Service Selection Board will conduct interviews with the candidates who have qualified for the written examination and have indicated which headquarters they desire. The candidates will be required to participate in a five-day testing procedure at one of the SSB testing locations. The candidates who have been picked by the officials in the interview phase will next be summoned to a separate location for their identification documents to be verified.

Document Verification

It is the responsibility of the officials to verify the documentation of selected candidates such as their mark sheets, graduation degrees, proof of age and other certifications and essential documents. When candidates’ documents are not authentic or full, the officials have the authority to disqualify them from the competition.
