UPSC CAPF AC 2022 Selection Process: Written Exam, Physical Efficiency Test & Interview

The Written Exam, Medical Test, and Interview / Personality Test are the three stages of the UPSC CAPF AC Selection Process.

The CAPF AC application process will begin in April 2022 (tentatively), with the deadline for submission in May 2022. (Tentative). Candidates should refer to the official website for more information.

Candidates must first take the CAPF Exam, which is administered in two sessions in the offline mode. The exam will last 5 hours in total. Candidates who pass this stage of the CAPF AC 2022 Exam advance to the next stage. Get the most up-to-date information here.

In stage II, candidates must meet the requirements for the 100m, 800m, long jump, and shot put (7.26 kg). For shot put, female candidates do not have to meet any requirements. Candidates should also practise CAPF previous question papers while preparing for the physical tests.


UPSC CAPF AC Selection Process 2022

The UPSC CAPF AC selection process 2022 entails recruitment based on four different levels of performance. All of the details about the selection process, as well as all of the important phases of the exam, are listed below.

CAPF Assistant Commandant Selection Stages 2022

The stages listed below will be presented in tabular form in the UPSC CAPF AC Selection Process 2022 for recruiting personnel for the position of Assistant Commandant. The following are the four main stages:

CAPF AC Selection Process: Written Test

The written entrance exam, which is held at designated CAPF Exam Centers, is the first step in the CAPF Recruitment process. It will take place in August of 2022. (Tentative). The following is the basic CAPF AC Exam pattern:

  • There are two types of papers: Paper I (objective type) and Paper II (creative type) (subjective type)
  • Paper I is worth 250 points, while Paper II is worth 200 points.
  • Paper I takes two hours to complete, while Paper II takes three hours.
  • Paper I contains questions in both English and Hindi, whereas Paper II only contains questions in English.
  • Questions on general ability and intelligence are included in Paper I.
  • Questions on general studies, essays, and comprehension are included in Paper II.

Candidates must ensure that they use the language allowed for the question when writing their answers in Paper II. Any response submitted in a different format will be disregarded.

The CAPF AC 2022 Cutoff will be different for each paper and will be determined by UPSC. In order for their Paper II answers to be evaluated, candidates must achieve the qualifying marks in Paper I.

CAPF AC Selection Process: Physical Standards & Medical Test

The candidate’s medical examination is the next step in the CAPF AC 2022 selection process. To be eligible for this step, a candidate must pass the CAPF written examination with the minimum qualifying marks specified in the UPSC CAPF Cut Off.

Candidates who pass the Physical Efficiency Test and the Medical Standards Test will be called for a Physical Efficiency Test and a Medical Standards Test. Candidates who pass the PET will be invited to take the Medical Standards Test, while those who do not will be rejected. The following are the specifics of the Physical Efficiency Test (PET):

Note:

  • Pregnancy at the time of the PET, in the case of female candidates, will be grounds for disqualification.
  • Candidates must file appeals with the Ministry of Home Affairs-designated Appellate Authority.
  • This must be completed within 15 days of the results of these tests being announced.

CAPF AC Selection Process: Interview 

Candidates who pass the Medical Standards Test and are deemed fit will be called for the final round of interviews or personality tests. The UPSC CAPF Selection Process will be worth 150 points at this stage.

  • It is important to note that candidates who have been declared medically unfit but have been granted permission by the Appellate Authority to appear before the “Review Medical Board” on their appeal will also be called for the final round.
  • Candidates must obtain an e-summon letter from the official website if they have been selected for an interview. To download the letter, enter the seven-digit roll number and captcha code.
  • A four-person panel is comprised of one chairperson (a CAPF member in good standing) and three professors/experts with extensive experience in their respective fields.
  • In the beginning, there is an introduction session to help the candidate gain confidence.
  • Then there are questions that are based on the DAF answers (Detailed Application Form).
  • At both the national and regional levels, candidates are quizzed on current events.

CAPF AC Selection Process: Detailed Application Form (DAF)

Candidates who pass the Medical Standards Test will be considered eligible for the Interview and Personality Test rounds. A Detailed Application Form will be provided to all such candidates (DAF). Several details, including their preferred Forces, will need to be specified in the form.

Pre-Requisites for Filling DAF

Before beginning the DAF form filling process, candidates should double-check that certain items are in order. During the form filling process, some documents and pieces of information will be required. It’s critical to have them ready from the start.

The following is a complete list of pre-requisites for DAF filling:

  • A scanned copy of the candidate’s birth certificate is required.
  • a scanned copy of the candidate’s certificates demonstrating his or her educational qualifications
  • a scanned copy of the certificate for the category (if applicable)
  • Scanned copy of the Undertaking, duly signed by the candidate seeking non-creamy layer OBC category relaxation
  • Scanned copy of duly completed and signed proforma attached to the Detailed Application Form by the candidate seeking OBC relief.
  • a scanned copy of the certificate supporting the age concession claim (if applicable)
  • If you’re claiming to be an ex-serviceman, you’ll need a scanned copy of your discharge certificate.

The above-mentioned documents must be scanned in their original form at a resolution of 200 dpi greyscale. They must then be combined into a single 2 MB pdf file. The PDF file should not be password protected and should be included in the DAF file.

At the time of the interview or within the last day of the interview, candidates will be required to present original certificates as well as self-attested copies. Candidacy will be cancelled if these documents are not submitted according to the stated specifications.

Important Information for Detailed Application Form (DAF)

While filling out the Detailed Application Form for CAPF AC, keep the following guidelines in mind:

  • Candidates must fill out the form with accurate and truthful information.
  • Any discrepancy found during cross-checking will result in the candidature being cancelled.
  • Candidates must indicate their preferred Force in column 10 of the DAF. This must be done with care, as no changes will be permitted after the submission.
  • The category certificate must be in the prescribed format, which can be found on the UPSC website, as well as the accepted format.
  • The date of birth on the application must match the Matriculation or Secondary School Leaving Certificate.
  • A candidate who has passed the Higher Secondary Examination or an equivalent examination may upload a scanned copy of their certificate from the Higher Secondary Examination or an equivalent examination.
  • The certificate for educational qualifications that was uploaded had to be issued by a university or other examination body.
  • If a candidate claims age relaxation as a Jammu and Kashmir domicile, they must upload a scanned copy of a certificate from a District Magistrate in J&K (within whose jurisdiction they resided) stating that they were domiciled in J&K from January 1, 1981 to December 31, 1990.
  • Ex-Servicemen claiming age concession, including Commissioned Officers and ECOs / SSCOs, must upload a scanned copy of their certificate as prescribed by UPSC.

A letter of appointment will be sent to the selected candidates. CAPF AC officers are paid between INR 51,480 and INR 1,77,500 per month, plus various allowances such as DA, MA, HRA, TA, and others for their service to the Indian government.


UPSC CAPF FAQs

Can I change the mode of CAPF AC language in paper II?

Candidates must write their answers in the same language as the question in Paper II. Any response submitted in a different format will be rejected.

Who all will be considered eligible for CAPF AC Interview round?

Will the CAPF AC 2022 Cutoff for each paper remain the same?
