The candidates who are taking the NCL Exam are chosen based on their merit. All candidates applying for various positions must pass both the written test and the personal interview in order to be hired.

In addition to the written test, the candidates applying for the post of dragline operators need to appear for an additional technical test (ATT) of 50 marks. The total time period of this exam is 60 minutes.
