  2. The KVPY (Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana) exam for the academic year 2021-22 was set for January 9, 2022. The examinations are conducted online for 100 points over a three-hour period.
  3. Due to regional language concerns, the KVPY (Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana) exam for 2021 has been postponed for the time being. The written test is the only stage of the KVPY exam for all three streams. Students who pass the KVPY exam will be eligible for direct admission to prestigious universities such as IISc and various IISERs. Previously, the KVPY consisted of two stages: an aptitude test and an interview. Candidates are invited to the interview process based on the results of the Aptitude Test. Students must pass both the Aptitude Test and the Interview to be considered for the scholarship. The Aptitude Test is worth 75% of the total score, while the Interview is worth 25%.


KVPY Eligibility Criteria 2021-22

SAAll students who have passed the X standard board examination are eligible to take the aptitude test for KVPY 2021. Once selected as a provisional KVPY fellow, the student must present a Class XI study certificate.
SXCandidates must have at least a 75 percent aggregate in Mathematics and Science in their 10th grade, with a 65 percent aggregate for SC/PWD/ST candidates. Applicants must also pass the 10+2 Science and stream examination with a minimum of 60 percent in aggregate, and SC/PWD/ST with a minimum of 50 percent.
SBAll students who have passed the XII board examination are eligible to take the aptitude test for KVPY 2021. Once selected as a provisional KVPY fellow, the student must produce a study certificate for 1st year B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./Int. M.Sc./Int. M.S.

Candidates who meet the KVPY eligibility criteria for the particular stream can take the aptitude test. Candidates must meet the KVPY eligibility criteria before filling out the KVPY 2022 Application Form.

  • The KVPY Fellowship programme is only open to Indian citizens.

Eligibility Criteria for KVPY SA:

  • Candidates who completed XI Standard (Science Subjects) in the academic year 2022 are eligible to take this exam.
    Candidates must have received at least 75 percent (65 percent for SC/ST/PWD candidates) in aggregate in Science and Mathematics subjects in Class X.
  • Candidates must obtain a minimum of 60% in aggregate in Science Subjects in the XII Standard Board Examination (50 percent for SC/ST/PWD).
  • Selected students’ fellowships will only be activated in the academic year 2022 if they enrol in a UG programme in Basic Science (B.Sc/BS/B.Stat./B.Math./Int.M.Sc/MS).
  • Participants will be invited to the National Science (Vijyoshi) Camp for a one-year interim period, with KVPY covering their travel and other related expenses.

Eligibility Criteria for KVPY SX:

  • Candidates in the 10+2 stream are eligible to apply. They must pass the 12th Board exam with a score of 60% (50 percent for SC/ST/PwD candidates).
  • Only when selected students enrol in a UG programme in Basic Science (B.Sc/BS/B.Stat./B.Math./Int.M.Sc/MS) in the academic year 2022-2023 will their fellowship be activated.
  • Candidates must score a minimum of 75 percent in class 10, while SC/ST/PwD candidates must score 65 percent in aggregate of all Science subjects and Mathematics, according to KVPY eligibility criteria 2022.

Eligibility Criteria for KVPY SB:

  • Candidates in the first year of a UG course in Basic Science such as Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics and Biology leading to a B.Sc/BS/B.Stat./B.Math./Int.Math./Int.Math./Int.Math./Int.Math./Int.Math./Int.Math./Int.
  • In the Intermediate Board Examination, candidates must obtain at least 60 percent in the GEN category and 50 percent in the SC/ST/PWD category in aggregate in Science subjects.
  • Before accepting the fellowship, candidates must receive 60 percent (50 percent for SC/ST/PWD category) in the first year final examination of B.Sc/BS/B.Stat./B.Math./Int.M.Sc/MS.

Fellowships offered in KVPY 2022:

  • Two KVPY Scholarships are available to students who fall into one of the three KVPY streams: SA, SB, or SX.
  • Candidates who apply for the KVPY Exam while in Class XI are included in the SA Stream (with Science Subjects).
  • Candidates in the SX Stream are those who are taking or have completed Class XII with science subjects in the academic year 2022.
  • Candidates in the SB Stream are in their first year of a Basic Sciences undergraduate programme in the academic year 2022.

However, if the aspirants leave the Basic Science course (B.Sc/ B.S./ B. Stat./ B.Math./ Int. M.Sc./ M.S.) at any point, the KVPY fellowship will be terminated. This will apply to the Annual Contingency Grant as well.
