- One of the new reforms in the Karnataka Administrative Services (KAS) examination is that the Board must state in writing why any student receiving less than 20 or more than 40 out of 50 in the Personality Test was given less than 20 marks.

KPSC 2022 Exam Pattern
The examination is broken up into three parts: an initial screening, a more in-depth test, and an in-person interview. To advance to the next and final stage of the selection process, the candidate must demonstrate success across all three phases. The exam pattern for all three is described in the following:
Stage 1: Preliminary Examination (Objective Type)
The Prelims stage of the KPSC examination is where the candidate must answer objective type questions in order to advance to the next round.
- There are two papers in the Preliminary Examination.
- The questions in these papers are either objective or multiple-choice (MCQs).
- The marks obtained in this exam are only qualifying in nature and do not count toward merit.
- The question paper is written in English.
- Each one of these papers is two hours long.
- Negative marking is a system in which 0.25 points is deducted for each incorrect answer.

Stage 2: Mains Examination (Descriptive Type Questions)
The Mains Examination is the second stage of the examination. Only those who pass the Prelims are eligible to take the Mains. During the final mark calculation, the marks obtained in the Mains are counted in merit.
- The written examination consists of descriptive type question papers, with only one qualifying structure.
- Candidates are invited for a personal interview after passing the Mains examination with the required certification marks.
- Each paper will last three hours.
- The question paper will be written in English. The language papers, on the other hand, will be issued in the testing languages.
- There are nine papers in the KPSC Mains: two qualifying papers, four general papers, and two optional papers.
- The total number of points is around 1750.

Stage 3: Final Interview
The personal interview is the final step in the KPSC recruitment process. Candidates who pass both the preliminary and main exams are invited to the interview session.
- Essentially, the interview is used to assess the applicants’ cognitive abilities. It is used to assess the academic abilities and social characteristics of potential candidates.
- The majority of the questions asked during the interview are about current events or major national or international events. The goal is to assess the candidates’ awareness and interest in the current state of the country, as well as their alertness and critical thinking skills.
- Applicants who do not meet the commission’s minimum marks or cut-off criteria in the first two stages of the exam are not invited to the interview round.

KPSC 2022 Eligibility Criteria
The following are the basic eligibility requirements:
- A citizen of India is required to apply for the test.
- Candidates must be between the ages of 21 and 35 to be eligible to take the exam and apply for various KPSC positions.
