IRTS Recruitment Eligibility Criteria 2024

In order to be considered for the exam, candidates must meet the qualifying requirements. The following are the requirements:

Nationality:

  • (a) an Indian citizen, or
  • (b) a Nepalese subject, or
  • (c) a Bhutanese subject, or
  • (d) a Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1 January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
  • (e) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with the intention of permanently
  • A candidate belonging to categories (b), (c), (d), and (e) must be a person in whose favour the Government of India has issued a certificate of eligibility.

Educational Qualification:

Candidates must meet the following conditions in order to be considered for the exam:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree from one of the recognised universities is required.
  • Candidates who have taken or are planning to take the qualifying examination and are awaiting results are also eligible to take the preliminary exam. Along with the application for the Main Examination, such candidates must provide documentation of passing the aforementioned examination.
  • Candidates with government-recognized professional and technical qualifications or equivalents are also eligible to apply.
  • Candidates who have finished their final year of MBBS or any other medical examination but have not yet completed their internship can also take the Main Exam. They must, however, present a certificate from the involved university stating that they passed the final professional medical examination together with their Main Examination application.

Age Limit :

The candidate must be at least 21 years old and not more than 32 years old.

For candidates who fall within the following categories, the upper age limit can be relaxed:

  • SC/ST – 5 years
  • Other Backward Classes – 3 years
  • If a candidate was habitually resident in the state of Jammu & Kashmir from January 1, 1980, to December 31, 1989, the time limit was extended to five years.
  • 3 years as a member of the Defense Services
  • 5 years for ex-servicemen, including Commissioned Officers and ECOs/SSCOs, who have served in the military for at least five years as of August 1, 2015.
  • In the case of ECOs/SSCOs, the age relaxation is five years.
  • Blind, deaf-mute, and orthopedically handicapped people extended to 10 years.

Number of attempts:

From the 1984 examination, the maximum number of attempts restriction is in effect. If there are any further eligibility requirements:

  • 6 attempts for general candidates.
  • Candidates from Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes are not restricted.
  • 9 attempts at other backward classes.
  • Physically challenged people have nine attempts in general and OBC, but they have no restrictions on the number of attempts in SC/ST.

IRTS Recruitment Application Form 2024

To fill out the application form on the official website, candidates must follow the steps below:

  1. Download the application form from the official website.
  2. Only one application form is required for candidates.
  3. Candidates must clearly state where they prefer to take their exam while filling out the form.
  4. Candidates should complete the form with the requested information and upload any relevant documents, pay the application fee, and submit the form within the specified time frame, along with a printout of the same.

Application Fee

Aspirants who want to apply for the job must pay INR 500 as an application fee. SC/ST candidates would be required to pay an additional INR 250.

IRTS Recruitment Admit Card 2024

Candidates must obtain their admit cards or hall tickets from the official website in order to appear in the IRTS test 2024, which will be held in the first week of June 2024. The following are the steps for downloading the admission card:

IRTS Recruitment Exam Pattern 2024

Prelims and mains are the two parts of the IRTS Recruitment test. The interview is the final stage.

Prelims Exam Pattern

  • Each of the prelims’ papers is worth 200 points.
  • Both question papers are objective in nature (multiple choice questions) and are one hour long.
  • The exam will have question papers in both Hindi and English. The questions relating to English comprehension skills will be in English.
  • Candidates with visual impairments will be granted an additional twenty minutes.

The final exam consists of 1750 possible points in total. There is a total of 275 points up for grabs for either the interview or the personality test. The maximum marks one can obtain is 2025.


IRTS Recruitment Syllabus 2024

The IRTS Recruitment exam syllabus is organised into two primary areas. They really are.

Preliminary Exam Syllabus

The preliminary exam is the first step in the selection process. The candidates will take two exams, one on General Studies and the other on Civil Services. Candidates should remember that the General Studies Paper-II is also known as the Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT) and is a qualifying paper with a minimum qualifying score of 33%.

The following is the syllabus:

  • General issues on the ecology of the environment, biodiversity, and climate change that do not need the subject pertaining to the specialization of General Science.
  • Geography of India and the world – physical, social-economic geography of India and the world.
  • Current events that are of national and international significance.
  • Social and Economic Development – Sustainable development, poverty, inclusion, demographics, social sector initiatives, etc.
  • Indian Polity and Governance – Constitution, Panchayati Raj, political system, public policy, issue of rights, etc.
  • History of India and the Indian National Movement.

Mains Exam Syllabus

The commission will announce a list of candidates who have been selected for the IRTS Mains exam based on merit and reservation. There are nine traditional or descriptive papers on this test, two of which are qualifying. The following is the syllabus:

  • Interpersonal skills which include communication skills
  • Logical reasoning and analytical ability

  • Consolidation after Independence and reorganization within the country include events from the 18th century such as the Industrial Revolution, World Wars, redrawing of the national boundaries, colonization, decolonization, political philosophies such as communism, capitalism, socialism, etc. – their forms and the effect it had on the society.

IRTS Recruitment Result 2024

Following the release of the answer key, the IRTS recruiting exam result is announced. They are available for download on the IRTS official website. The results for the Preliminary Exam and the Main Exam will be released separately. As a result, the merit will be determined.


IRTS Recruitment Cut-Off 2024
