IDAS Recruitment FAQs
The TA Directorate notifies the TA about the commission. If a civil officer is approved by the SSB interview and proven medically fit, he or she can apply for a commission. Officers are sent to IMA training for three months after being commissioned in the Territorial army.
Shortly after their accession, IDAS cadre officers will be assigned to the role of Assistant Controlling Officer of Defence Accounts. Cantonments are primarily found in municipal towns. Personnel from the IDAS cadre will also be promoted to the rank of Deputy Controller of Defense Accounts.
In truth, IDAS is the only programme that can compete with IAS, IAAS. It is even better than the IRS in terms of deputation. The best of both worlds is army+civil. In the vast majority of cases, IAAS is suggested. Deputation at the centre is a good option because it has a faster advancement rate than IAS.
