Exam Pattern for IBPS PO Prelims 2023

The IBPS PO prelims exam will be held online in 2023 and will consist of three sections: English language, logical reasoning, and quantitative aptitude. There are only objective questions asked. 1 mark will be awarded for each correct answer, while 0.25 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer. To pass the preliminary examination, candidates must meet both the sectional and overall cutoffs.

Exam Pattern for IBPS PO Mains 2023

  • Candidates who pass the preliminary exams are eligible to take the main exams and the final selection round, which is the interview round. Similar to prelims exams, the correct answer receives one mark, while the incorrect answer receives 0.25. There will be both objective and descriptive questions on this exam.
  • The IBPS PO Main exam is divided into four sections: English, Data Analysis and Interpretation, Reasoning and Computer Aptitude, and General Awareness. The Descriptive Paper in the IBPS PO Main Exam will have two questions: Letter Writing and Essay Writing.
  • The examination will last 3 hours and 30 minutes (3 hours for objective paper and 30 minutes for descriptive paper).
  • There will be 155 multiple choice questions and two written questions in total. Each question will have five possible answers, but only one will be correct. Sectional and overall cutoffs will be implemented. Each section of the Main exam will have a time limit for completion. Candidates with higher scores/marks will be placed at the top of the IBPS PO cutoff list. Candidates with a higher score will be given first consideration for an interview.
  • The ‘Computer Awareness’ section has been removed from the Prelims Exam and replaced with ‘Computer Aptitude,’ which is merged with the Reasoning Ability section. In the Mains exam, the Quantitative Aptitude section has been renamed ‘Data Interpretation and Analysis.’ It will now also include Data Interpretation questions.
