In 2024, the examination to become a GPSC Assistant Engineer will be split into two parts: a preliminary test, and an interview. The test consists of two parts: one on General Studies, and the other on Specialized Subject Knowledge. The first examination is a multiple-choice test that can be worth up to a total of 300 points.

If the candidate passes the Gujarat Public Service Commission’s selection process, they will be hired as that of an Assistant Engineer in the GWSSB service, earning between INR 44,900 and INR 1,42,400 [Level-8].
