Chhattisgarh Teacher Eligibility Test (CG TET) is a state-level examination conducted by the Chhattisgarh Professional Examination Board in Raipur. To become a teacher in a government or private school in Chhattisgarh, a candidate must pass the CGTET examination. The exam is held once a year, and candidates can choose to pursue teacher training in primary classes (I-V) or upper primary classes (VI-VIII) in government or private schools in Chhattisgarh.

CG TET 2024 Eligibility criteria

  • Before filling the form for CGTET (Chhattisgarh Teacher eligibility test) a candidate must check his or her eligibility criteria so that they can appear for the examination.
  • There is no age restriction for giving the CGTET.
  • Educational qualification- graduation or 2 years of diploma in elementary education or graduation with at least 50% marks in Bachelor in Education (B. Ed) in pedagogy or B.ED.
  • Candidate for primary teacher (I-V) must have obtained an HSC (Higher Secondary Certificate) or its equivalent with a minimum of 45 percent or a relevant B. A/ B. Ed/ B.SC degree with a minimum of 50 percent.
  • Candidates for upper primary teachers (VI-VII) must possess a relevant bachelor’s degree in B.SC/ B.AD/ D. ED (Diploma in education) with a minimum of 45 percent or a minimum of 50 percent in B. ED.

CG TET 2024 Application form

Online filling of application form

  • The application form for the CGTET examination will be available on the CG TET’s official website.
  • Applicants must register on the CGTET’s official website using their mobile number, email address, and phone number, among others (Chhattisgarh Teacher Eligibility Test).
  • Once the candidate’s information is entered, he or she can log in and complete the application form.
  • Applicants must upload scanned images in JPEG format of their passport-size photograph, thumb impression, and signature.
  • After all, the candidate for this process must pay the fees via online methods.
  • After submitting the form, candidates should print it.

Application fee

The application process will be unique for each category, and candidates can pay their fees online using a debit card, credit card, or internet banking.

CG TET 2024 Exam pattern

  • The CG TET Exam consists of two papers, paper 1 for primary level classes (I-V) and paper 2 for upper primary classes (VI-VIII). Candidates must pass one of the examinations to become a primary or upper primary teacher, and candidates interested in teaching classes I-VIII must pass both examinations.
  • The examination will be conducted offline and will last 2.5 hours (150 minutes).
  • There will be 150 objective-type questions. Additionally, 1 point will be awarded for each correct answer; there will be no negative marking.

Note: Candidates interested in teaching mathematics and science must take the mathematics and science section along with child development and both languages, while candidates interested in teaching social studies or any other subject must take the social studies & other subject section along with the other compulsory sections.


CG Syllabus 2024

For paper 1 (I-V) class

  • In Child development and pedagogy, students will learn about the development of a primary school child, the concept of inclusive education, and how to understand children with special needs.
  • In Languages 1 (Hindi) and 2 (English), students will learn about language comprehension and the pedagogy of language development.
  • In Mathematics, number systems, algebra, geometric patterns, measurement, data manipulation, solids, ratio and proportion, mensuration, and pedagogical issues are covered.
  • In environmental studies, the terms “environment,” “food and shelter,” “water,” “family and friends,” and “pedagogical issue” are used interchangeably.

For Paper 2 (VI-VIII) class

  • Child development and pedagogy—the concept of inclusive education and the pedagogy of children with special needs.
  • In Languages 1 (Hindi) and 2 (English), students will learn about language comprehension and the pedagogy of language development.
  • In mathematics and science, these topics include the number system, algebra, geometry, mensuration, data manipulation, and pedagogical concerns. Food, materials, the living world, moving things, people and ideas, natural phenomena, and resources all fall under the category of science.
  • In social studies, students study history, geography, sociology, and politics.

CG TET Selection Process

  • Applicants will be chosen based on their performance on the CGTET entrance exam (Chhattisgarh Teacher Eligibility Test).
  • Candidates are shortlisted on the basis of their performance on the entrance examination.
  • They will then be eligible to participate in the personal interview round.
  • If the applicant successfully completes all rounds, they can apply to become a teacher in Chhattisgarh.

CG TET Examination Centre

  • Candidates will be assigned one of four preferences/choices for their examination centre.
  • The examination centre will be specified on their CGTET admit card (Chhattisgarh Teacher Eligibility Test).
  • The examination centre will be located throughout the country.

CG TET Admit card 2024

  • The Chhattisgarh professional examination board (CPEB) publishes the admit card for the CGTET Examination on the official website of the CG TET.
  • Admit cards will be distributed one week prior to the examination date.
  • By entering their registration number and password, candidates can download their admit cards.
  • The admit card will contain the following information: the venue, date, time, and location of the examination, as well as any other pertinent information about the examination.
  • If candidates are unable to download their admit card, they should contact their authorities immediately.
  • It is recommended to download the admit card in hard copy as there will be no entry for the candidate without the admit card.

CG TET Result

  • The results will be announced on the CG TET’s official website in June 2024.
  • Prior to the announcement of the results, CPEB will make the answer key available on its official website (Chhattisgarh Professional Examination Board).
  • Candidates can access their results by entering their roll number, and the CGTET paper requires a minimum score of 60%.
  • Those who achieve a score of more than 60% will receive a certificate.
  • Applicants who pass the examination will be invited to the interview round.
