APTET stands for Andhra Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test, and it is an entrance exam used to shortlist candidates for teaching positions in all of Andhra Pradesh’s schools. For Class I to Class VIII, the teacher is assigned to various Government/ ZP/ MP/ Municipal/ Recognized Private Aided & Private Unaided schools. The Andhra Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test [APTET] is a State Level Entrance Test administered by the Department of School Education of the Government of Andhra Pradesh in order to ensure National Standards and Benchmarks of Teacher Quality in the recruitment process, in accordance with the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). The Department of School Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh, will conduct APTET 2024. Every year in the month of May, the Andhra Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test is held at the state level in Andhra Pradesh. APTET 2024 will be held online, in 13 different districts across Andhra Pradesh, using a computer-based test (CBT). Paper I and Paper II make up the question paper, with Paper II being further separated into Paper-II (a) and Paper-II (b).

For the APTET Recruitment 2024, candidates must be between the ages of 18 and 40 in order to be considered for the posts of primary and upper primary teachers.
The following list details the required levels of education:
Paper 1 (Class 1 to 5): The candidate needs to have received a grade of at least fifty per cent on the Intermediate/ Senior Secondary & 10+2 exam or an exam that is similar. Candidates must have earned either a Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.) after four years of study, a two-year diploma in education, or a two-year diploma in elementary education.
Applicants must have completed and received a passing grade of at least 45 per cent on the 10+2 test or its equivalent, as well as either a 2-year diploma in elementary education, a 2-year diploma in education, or a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education degree (B.El.Ed).
Paper 2 (Class 6 to 8): Candidates are required to hold a graduate degree with a minimum score of 50 per cent overall and a score of 40 per cent (for SC/ST/OBC candidates). Applicants must have a Bachelor of Education or Bachelor of Education (Special Education) degree to be considered. Candidates for the APTET 2024 must have a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in Education degree with a minimum score of fifty per cent.
