APSC CCE Syllabus and Exam Pattern 2022: APSC CCE Syllabus and Exam Pattern 2022 have been released by the APSC board.

Candidates should have begun their preparations by now, and if they haven’t, now is the time to do so. Before beginning their preparations, aspirants must first review the APSC CCE Syllabus and Exam Pattern.

Throughout the year, the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) holds various examinations for the recruitment of Group ‘B’ and ‘C’ officers. The Combined Competitive Exam (CCE) is held by the commission for the appointment of officers to various posts in the Assam government.

The APSC (Amendment) Rules, 2019, divide the entire recruitment process into three exams: the preliminary exam, the main exam, and the personal interview. The APSC CCE Exam prelims consist of objective-based questions worth 400 marks, and candidates who pass the prelims will be shortlisted for the mains exam.


APSC CCE 2022 Exam Pattern

The APSC CCE Prelims exam, which will be worth 400 marks, will be held soon. Candidates who pass the preliminary exam will be eligible to take the main exam, which will have 11 to 12 times the number of vacancies available.

To assist CCE candidates, the APSC has also published a few model papers for the prelims exam (GS-I&II). It’s also worth noting that 30-35 percent of the questions in the preliminary exam will be about the state of Assam. Candidates can also look at previous year’s papers and model papers for more information.

  • In the Prelims paper, there will be a total of 400 questions, with each correct answer receiving a +1 mark.
  • There will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer marked.
  • Count the number of answers marked correctly and the number of answers marked incorrectly to calculate the grade.
  • Multiply 0.25 by the number of incorrectly marked answers, then subtract from the total number of correct answers.
  • Number of correct answers marked – 0.25 X number of incorrect answers marked = approximate marks.

Soon after the Prelims results are released, the APSC CCE Main Exam 2022 will be held. Candidates will be called for the Interview round after they have passed the Main examination. The main exam consists of a written test and an interview.

  • Paper A (300 marks, 3 hours): any one of the Assamese, Bengali, or Bodo languages. Candidates from the districts of Dima Hasao, Karbi Anglong, and West Karbi Anglong who have not studied any of these languages in school will not be required to take this Paper A.
  • English (Paper B) (300 marks- 3 Hours duration)

APSC CCE 2022 Exam Selection Process

Candidates who pass the preliminary exam will be invited to take the mains exam.

  • The language papers in the mains exam are qualifying, and candidates must achieve minimum qualifying marks in those papers in order to be considered for the personal interview.
  • Candidates who qualify in the language papers will have their papers checked, and a merit list will be created based on their scores in the mains written exam.
  • Candidates who pass the mains exam will be shortlisted for the personal interview round, which carries a total score of 275 marks.
  • The final merit list and candidate selection will be based on their overall performance in the mains written exam (excluding language papers) and their performance in the personal interview round.

APSC Mains Exam Syllabus

The APSC CCE Mains Exam is made up of eight papers, two of which are qualifying in nature. Essay writing is the first paper of the APSC Mains exam.

APSC Mains Exam Qualifying Papers:

If these marks are not taken into account, only passing is required. The Commission establishes Minimum Qualifying Marks for both Paper A and Paper B.

Paper-A

This section will include 300-point questions on the language that the candidate has chosen from Assamese, Bengali, or Bodo. The following criteria will be used to ask questions:

  1. Precis Writing
  2. Short Essay
  3. Comprehension of given passages.
  4. Usage and Vocabulary.
  5. Translation i.e. English to the Indian language and vice versa.

Paper-B

The purpose of the paper is to assess a candidate’s ability to read and comprehend serious discursive prose as well as express his ideas clearly and correctly in English. It is worth 300 marks.

  2. Comprehension of given passages.
  3. Short Essay.
  4. Usage and Vocabulary.

Candidates who pass the Prelims and Mains Exams will be called for the Personality Test, which will determine their final selection. The final APSC cut off list will be determined by the results of the Main Exam and Personality Test.
