Applicants from the General/EWS category and applicants from the reserved category applying for unreserved positions must have at least 60% aggregate marks in their minimum qualifying degree, while applicants applying for reserved positions must have at least 50% aggregate marks in their minimum qualifying degree.

All applicants applying for engineering positions must also meet the age requirements set forth by RITES in its official announcement. Applicants must be under the age of 40 (as of November 1, 2021), i.e., those born on or after November 1, 1981 are eligible to apply for this position.
The written test curriculum is not specified in RITES’ official notification, but it can be estimated by looking at previous years’ papers. The paper includes questions from five different subjects: general English, general knowledge, quantitative aptitude, reasoning, and the subject of the concerned post (i.e. Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering).
