The instrument of instructions contained in the Government of India Act, 1935 has been incorporated in the constitution of India in the year 1950 as Directive Principles of State Policy. The main reason behind this policy is to create a welfare State. Principles like freedom of expression, belief, faith and worship, equality in opportunity and status and promote a sense of unity and integrity of the nation has been included in this policy.
