As part of the “Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan,” Delhi University (DU) announced on Friday that it will host a Tiranga rally the following week to commemorate 75 years of India’s independence.
According to the statement, the rally will take place over a four-kilometre route and involve both teaching and non-teaching university employees as well as students. “The University of Delhi will host a Tiranga Yatra on August 10 as part of the “Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan.” Vice-Chancellor Professor Yogesh Singh of Delhi University will be in charge of the historic yatra. This Tiranga Yatra would be attended by all university authorities and faculty members “DU said.
The “Har Ghar Tiranga” programme, which is being staged in conjunction with the Azadi ka Amrit Mahatsov festivities, is being promoted by all institutions and colleges, according to a recent University Grants Commission (UGC) directive. The UGC requested that higher education institutions hold contests for essays, drawings, and songs a week before “Independence Week” and host “Nukkad Nataks,” “Prabhat Pheries,” speeches, and other events with a call to action to purchase or give a flag.
