NCPCR has requested NTA to revise the JEE Main 2023 dates and eliminate the 75% eligibility requirement due to the overlap between JEE Main 2023 and CBSE practical exams 2023 that has caused unease among students.

The NCPCR has been informed by Mr. Navneet Kumar from Bihar that the JEE Main 2023 exam was declared one month before the first session-1 was finished. Furthermore, NTA declared the date of the first session-1 four months before the exam in 2020.

The letter then stated that the one month notice period was not enough and was deemed ‘unjust and unfair’ for those taking the JEE Main 2023. NCPCR also mentioned that the 75% eligibility criteria were too rigorous for those who took a year off. The first session of JEE Main 2023 is scheduled to occur from January 24th to 31st, 2023, and the CBSE board exams are planned for February 15, 2023 with practicals in January. The hashtag ‘#postponeJEEMains’ went viral on social media platforms when the NTA released the dates for the JEE Main 2023 exam.

Aditya Jha, an engineering aspirant, expressed concern regarding the conflicting dates of the second session of JEE Main 2023, which is set to take place on April 6th, 8th, 10th-12th, 2023, and other regional boards’ practicals – Assam’s beginning from 25th January, Bihar’s from 10th January, and Telangana’s from 20th January. He questioned why the government can’t recognize the issue.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) made the 2023 JEE Main application form available on jeemain.nta.nic.in on December 17, 2022. The deadline for submitting the JEE Main 2023 exam session 1 application is January 12.
