The initial implementation of the Common University Entrance Test (CUET 2022) for undergraduate (UG) admissions to central universities and private universities involved was affected by issues such as technical errors, lags, and last minute changes of the exam center. According to the Ministry of Education’s statement to the Rajya Sabha, the National Testing Agency (NTA) received up to 65,000 complaints.
In a response written by Subhas Sarkar, the Minister of State for Education, the NTA acknowledged that it had been presented with 47,835 requests to amend the date or location of the CUET UG 2022 exam, which occurred from July to September. He verified that all of these pleas were taken into consideration and the necessary steps were taken.
The NTA has established a unique email address to take care of complaints at a later time. The minister revealed that 17,460 (1.1 %) of the 14.9 lakh participants had encountered some issues. The ministry also presented the number of examinees per state who took part in the CUET 2022 exam. The most frequent applicants were from Uttar Pradesh with 2,92,589, and Delhi with 1,86,405 according to the government information.
CUET UG 2022 registered a total of 1.49 million applicants, making it the second-largest national entrance exam, behind NEET UG 2022. The first slot saw 810,000 participants, and the second slot had 680,000. In total, 925,142 candidates took part in the exam, according to the ministry.
The UGC has declared that the CUET UG 2023 test will take place from May 21 to 31, 2023 and applications for it will begin in the first week of February. It is anticipated that the CUET PG 2023 examination will be conducted in the initial or second week of June. The UGC Chairman M Jagadesh Kumar previously stated that those who want to join will be able to obtain details on the CUET PG exam dates and the release of the application form this week.
