The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur will host the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) in 2023. The GATE exam for 2023 will be held on February 4, 5, 11, and 12. Registration for GATE 2023 will start the first week of September 2022. Registration for candidates will be available on the official website, gate.iitk.ac.in.
GATE 2023 will be a computer-based test (CBT) with a choice of two papers in some topic areas. It will be administered in 29 subject areas. The exam will assess the candidate’s complete knowledge in a range of undergraduate engineering, science, humanities, and social science courses.
Candidates who have finished a government-sponsored degree programme in engineering, technology, architecture, the sciences, business, or the arts or are presently enrolled in their third or higher year of any undergraduate programme are eligible to apply. IIT Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, Roorkee, and the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore will all jointly conduct the GATE 2023 exam. The National Coordination Board-GATE (NCB) and the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India, shall arrange the exam on their behalf.
In order to be considered for admission and/or financial aid to: I Master’s programmes and direct Doctoral programmes in Engineering/Technology/Architecture and (ii) Doctoral programmes in relevant branches of Arts and Science at institutions supported by the MoE and other Government Agencies, GATE qualification is helpful. Additionally, a lot of Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) have started considering GATE scores in their hiring procedures.
