The National Testing Agency (NTA) announced that the second version of the Common University Entrance Test (CUET)-UG will be held from May 21 to 31, 2023. The process of admission to undergraduate programs in universities is expected to be finished by July 2023 and the new academic year can commence on August 1 next year.
In March 2019, the University Grants Commission (UGC) declared that all central universities in India would be making admissions based on the Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUET) scores, instead of relying on Class 12 marks or individual university entrance exams.
M Jagadesh Kumar, the Chairman of the UGC, declared that the CUET 2023 application process will commence during the initial week of February 2023.
Kumar revealed that the NTA is in the process of setting up 1,000 testing locations throughout the nation, with around 450 to 500 of them being utilized each day. The dates of the CUET-PG are projected to be declared in the coming week.
He mentioned that the amount of components and structure of exam papers will stay the same. A person can choose up to 6 domain topics together with either one or two dialects plus the General Exam. The test would be given in the following dialects: Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.
Kumar stated that CUET-PG is projected to be conducted during the initial or second week of June 2023. It is anticipated that the results of CUET-UG will be revealed in the third week of June 2023 and those of CUET-PG in the initial week of July 2023. Thanks to the settled timetable of CUET-UG and CUET-PG, universities should be able to finish their admissions process by the end of July 2023 and commence the academic sessions on August 1, 2023.
