On Monday, the chief minister of Arunachal Pradesh praised the contribution of educators, particularly those working in rural areas, to forming the state’s next generation and creating a thriving industry. The chief minister, who was present for the celebration of Teachers’ Day, thanked the educators for providing kids with a high-quality education despite numerous challenges related to facilities. The role of our teachers in making education a thriving field is immeasurable, he said, even though Arunachal Pradesh has lagged behind in practically all sectors, including education. According to the chief minister, the development and influence of the internet and its widespread accessibility have greatly expanded the role of teachers in modern society.
“We cannot avoid the influence of the internet on the formative years of a student but as teachers, we can surely guide them to use the web for positive development and knowledge gain,” he said.
The chief minister cited a lack of adequate infrastructure in several state-run schools and stated that, in accordance with the National Education Policy, the state government is committed to rebuilding all crumbling schools and providing teachers and students with the necessities so that they can concentrate on providing high-quality education. Schools are currently undergoing progressive reconstruction and renovation, and by 2030, all the infrastructure needs will be met, according to Khandu. He requested that the Chief Secretary instruct the Deputy Commissioners and Deputy Directors of School Education (DDSEs) to gather information about every school under their jurisdiction and report back to the government for further action.
Regarding complaints about the lack of teachers in the state, Khandu stated that there are currently 16,000 teachers working in 3,600 government and government-aided schools. The chief minister stated, “If teacher posting is rationalised, there would be an adequate number of instructors for all schools. Khandu urged the Arunachal Teacher’s Association (ATA) to collaborate and support the department’s efforts in this respect. He gave the education department the go-ahead to develop and implement a solid structure for the reasonable transfer and posting of teachers. According to him, the state government has already given the state public service commission permission to hire enough teachers to match the demand.
Khandu promoted restoring the system of school management committees with local community members in response to poor management of schools, particularly in rural areas. He claimed that prior schools were cared for by village residents, who made sure the educational facilities were run properly. According to him, the sole Arunachal State University at Pasighat would begin operations this year. The chief minister presented state awards to 31 teachers who work in government and government-aided schools on Teachers’ Day in recognition of their commendable work in providing pupils with a high-quality, moral education.
