The K–12 (kindergarten–12th grade) school chain that will open in Chennai has been announced by the Shiv Nadar Foundation. Kindergarten through grade four will have a single academic year beginning in June 2023. About 150 students will enrol in the school’s first year of operation; enrollment is anticipated to rise yearly. The school’s 14-acre campus is situated near Elliott’s Beach in the Damodar Gardens. The school will have separate buildings for junior, middle, and senior high school students. Modern science labs, playgrounds, multipurpose indoor sports complexes, athletic fields, dining halls, auditoriums, swimming pools, and other facilities will be available to students.
By 2024, the entire campus will be completed.
Shiv Nadar Foundation is one of the leading schools in NCR and currently operates three schools in Delhi-NCR in Faridabad, Noida, and Gurugram.
Shikhar Malhotra, the chairman of Shiv Nadar School, said: “Tamil Nadu will always be special because it is the birthplace of Shiv Nadar, making it the perfect setting for opening an international school. The Shiv Nadar Foundation adheres to the “creative philanthropy” school of thought, which envisions the development of institutions that will endure and have an impact on coming generations. Starting a school in the K–12 sector was a logical next step in integrating the learning experience since we already have two educational institutions in the higher education area established in the city. We are excited to open the fourth Shiv Nadar School in Chennai after successfully operating three in Delhi-National Capital Region.
