According to National Testing Agency (NTA) officials, applicants for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) UG 2022 who were unable to show up for the important exam on the first day due to a change in centres will have another opportunity in the second phase in August. Technical difficulties caused the exams to be cancelled at two locations in Pathankot, Punjab, and New Jalpaiguri, West Bengal. “The second round of the examination will now be open to the over 190 candidates who were scheduled to attend at the two centres.” ” Candidates who were unable to appear owing to changes in exam locations would also have a second shot at other centres,” a senior NTA representative said.
In more than 510 cities in India and abroad, the first-ever Common University Entrance Test (CUET)-UG kicked off on Friday. There are two phases to the examination. Phase 1 will take place in July, followed by Phase 2 in August. Given that NEET UG 2022 will take place on July 17, candidates who choose Physics, Chemistry, or Biology have been assigned to Phase 2 of the CUET exam.
On Friday at 9:00 am, the exam for the first slot started. The CUET, the common entrance for undergraduate admissions in all central universities, has surpassed JEE-average Main’s registration of nine lakh candidates to become the second-largest entrance exam in the nation with 14.9 lakh registrations. With an average of 18 lakh registrations, NEET-UG is India’s largest entrance examination. Several candidates expressed worries before the exam about having to take too many exams quickly, the delay in admit cards, and not having a choice of centres. However, according to the University Grants Commission (UGC), 98% of students have been assigned to a centre of their choice.
In contrast to the % approach, the CUET result will be reported as a percentile, which will show where a candidate stands in relation to other candidates. For the first iteration of CUET for UG admissions in the academic year 2022–2023, a total of 44 central institutions, 12 state universities, 11 deemed universities, and 19 private universities have applied.
