Mamidala Jagadesh Kumar, Chairman of the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), declared that the exam for December 2022 will take place from February 21st to March 10th. Registration for the UGC NET December 2022 will start today at 5pm, and the final date to apply will be January 17th, 2023.
Kumar announced in a tweet that the NTA has been appointed by the UGC to conduct the UGC NET December 2022 exams, with registration opening on the ugcnet.nta.nic.in website. This test is used to assess the eligibility of Indian citizens for the positions of ‘Assistant Professor’ and ‘JRF and Assistant Professor’ in Indian universities and colleges.
The NTA has announced that the UGC-NET for December 2022 will take place in a Computer Based Test (CBT) format for Junior Research Fellowship and eligibility for Assistant Professor in 83 subjects. The UGC NET 2022 result for the combined December 2021 and June 2022 cycles was declared on the 5th of November 2022, with over 52,000 candidates being successful.
In 2022, the UGC NET exam took place in four phases between July 9 and October 22, which spanned a total of 17 days and 33 shifts at 837 centers located in 239 cities across India. A total of 5,44,485 people participated in the exam, with 43,246 candidates being successful in getting a position as an assistant professor, and 8,955 individuals qualifying for a Junior Research Fellowship and the option to become an assistant professor.
