Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the opposition party in Congress, poked fun at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) administration by blaming it for the nation’s rising jobless rate. Only 7.22 lakh, or 3 out of 1,000, of the 22 crore young people who lined up for government jobs during the past eight years were hired, according to Rahul Gandhi. He continued to criticise the BJP government by claiming that Raja becomes enraged whenever he brings up unemployment. The fact is that they are unable to create jobs. He added that while the BJP portrays the youth as a “burden,” they are actually assets to the nation.
On July 15, the leader of the Congress revealed statistics on youth unemployment and declared, “Misled. Betrayed. Cheated. Can the youth of India who is unemployed use these ‘unparliamentary’ terms to expose your lies, Mr Prime Minister? The data provided indicates that the nation’s unemployment rate in 2021–2022 was 42 percent. India’s jobless rate has doubled in five years when compared to 2017–18.
