Prime Minister Narendra Modi will introduce the Mission Schools of Excellence on October 19, 2022, in Gandhinagar’s Dadanagar Convention Hall of Tri Mandir. The event will draw more than 20,000 Gujarati teachers and members of administrative committees from schools. The project’s information from Gujarat’s minister of education, Jitu Vaghani, is as follows: Gujarat will see the construction of 50,000 classrooms, 1.5 lakh smart classrooms, 5,000 Atal Tinkering laboratories, and 20,000 computer labs over the course of the next four years.
The first phase of the roughly Rs 5,567 crore school infrastructure will get started after the launch. About 1 crore students and teachers can watch the live broadcast on BISAG TV and social media.
With the help of this project, Gujarati government schools with more than 120 students would be strengthened and turned into Schools of Excellence. The Gujarat government has chosen 20,000 government schools, including 15,000 primary schools and 5,000 secondary grant-aided schools, for development under the project. According to estimates, 63 lakh more pupils will be enrolled in these schools than last year. “ More than 7,000 schools are currently holding tenders for projects totalling Rs 1,650 crore to build 8,000 classrooms and more than 20,000 additional amenities.
The construction of 13,500 classrooms across more than 4,000 schools, hostels, District Institute for Education and Training (DIET) structures, and Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) complexes will cost more than Rs 2,881 crore, the education minister continued. Today in Rajkot, PM Modi will also lay the cornerstone for a number of projects as well as the DefExpo22, an exhibition of India’s military manufacturing capabilities, and the India Urban Housing Conclave-2022.
