Union Minister Jitendra Singh announced on Wednesday that in the past five years, over 377,000 individuals have been chosen for positions in the Central Government by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), Staff Selection Commission (SSC), and the Railway Recruitment Board (RRBs).
The government has already mandated all ministries/departments to quickly fill up any open positions, the minister of state for personnel, Singh, reported to the Lok Sabha. He believes that the employment fairs organized by the central government will be an impetus to create more jobs and provide young people with meaningful chances to become involved with national development.
The Minister informed the lower house that 3,77,802 individuals were chosen by UPSC, SSC and RRBs for jobs in the central government over the past five years. He continued by saying that the process of appointment is ever-ongoing, depending on the demands of the various departments of the central government. He additionally informed that all eligible applicants, even those with higher qualifications, can apply for the posts that are advertised taking into account their educational qualifications and the requirements of the advertised posts.
The minister reported that the majority of the examinations have been conducted without any legal action, however, in some cases the process of recruitment has been disrupted due to litigations. When asked for the number of educated unemployed persons in the country, state-wise and trade-wise, the minister mentioned that no such data is kept.
