NEW DELHI: Anurag Thakur, the federal minister of information and broadcasting, said that the National Rail and Transport Institute (NRTI), a Vadodara-based deemed university, would be promoted to a central university and given the name “Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya”. The creation of the Gati Shakti University has received approval from the cabinet. This will be Gujarat’s second central university after the Central University of Gujarat whenever it is established (CUG). The minister stated that the Gati Shakti University’s capacity would be raised and that more courses would be added.
The programme is anticipated to help the young of the nation and the residents of Gujarat. According to the minister, the university would engage in research and talent development. The university is intended to aid in the development of India’s transportation industry. It seeks to deliver cutting-edge technologies and highly qualified staff.
Today, NRTI offers programmes like the BSc in transportation technology, the BBA in transportation management, and the MSc in railway system engineering and integration. “The Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya will be built in Vadodara, Gujarat, with Cabinet approval.
