The Gautam Buddh Nagar district administration declared on Friday that all public and private schools in Noida and Greater Noida will continue to cancel classes up to the eighth grade owing to the rain. Due to the ongoing rain, the district administration had previously ordered a Friday school closure.
The district magistrate has declared September 24 (Saturday) a vacation for children in Classes 1 through 8 in all the schools of all the boards, keeping in mind the students’ safety due to severe rains and excessive waterlogging on the roadways. Therefore, District School Inspector Dharamveer Singh advised all principals and headmasters to guarantee that the directive was followed. The National Capital Region, which includes the Uttar Pradesh district of Gautam Buddh Nagar, is expected to have significant rainfall on Saturday, according to the weather service.
Rainfall has been persistent in Gautam Buddh Nagar since Thursday, and drizzles continued into Friday night, causing some areas of Noida and Greater Noida to flood. Despite police reports that the situation is generally under control in the twin towns that border Delhi, there have been reports of traffic congestion on the roadways in some areas of the district, particularly during morning and evening rush hours. According to the weather bureau, the district received 15 mm of rain in the 24 hours that ended on Friday morning, which is 689 percent less than what is typical for this time of year.
