Candidates may change their category in the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) PG counselling 2022 from Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC), or Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) to Unreserved (UR). Additionally, candidates for NEET PG 2022 are now permitted by the Commission to revert to Indian citizenship. Recently, MCC allowed applicants to switch from being Indian to being a Non-Resident Indian (NRI).
It is for the knowledge of NEET PG 2022 applicants who unintentionally listed their category as SC/ ST/ EWS/ OBC in the NBE registration form but afterwards realised they are not eligible to claim a reserved category seat for any reason. According to an official notification from MCC, “For Round 1 of NEET PG Counseling, 2022 and subsequent rounds, MCC of DGHS, MoHFW is allowing ‘Change of Category’ option on the front page of the Registration form which may be availed by only those candidates who wish to change their category from SC/ST/OBC/EWS to UR category.
MCC informed candidates that they would not be able to modify their category or nationality once they changed it from “NRI” to “INDIAN” for the purposes of the NEET PG 2022 counselling process.
Once again, candidates may only use the “Change of Category/Nationality” option earlier. Additionally, according to the MCC of the DGHS, MoHFW’s counselling policy, candidates who fall under the OBC-NCL category and are on the Central List of OBC are eligible for OBC reservation benefits. On mcc.nic.in, MCC has begun accepting registrations for Round 1 of NEET PG 2022 counselling. Candidates have until September 23 to register for the 50% All India Quota (AIQ) round 1 of the NEET PG counselling procedure.
