NEET PG 2022 Counselling: MCC adds new MD and MS seats in Round 1

New MD and MS seats have been added by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) for Round 1 of the National Eligibility Entrance Test for Postgraduate (NEET PG) 2022 counselling. On the official website, mcc.nic.in, candidates can view the newly added seats and exercise choice-filling for these positions.

“The Medical Counselling Committee has received information from the following Institutes (List included) regarding new seats that could not be supplied by the colleges before the commencement of Round-1 of PG Counselling 2022 because LoPs from NMC were received after the start of counselling. In order to better serve candidates, the responsible authority has decided to include the following MD/ MS seats in the seat matrix of Round 1 of PG Counseling 2022, according to an official notification from MCC

According to the list posted on the MCC website, medical colleges in Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Jammu and Kashmir, Karnataka, and Madhya Pradesh have declared new seats. Overseas Citizens of India (OCI), Persons of Indian Origin (PIO), and foreign nationals shall only be eligible for NRI seats and not for Indian (All India Quota/ Central/ Deemed Paid/ Indian) seats, according to another notification from MCC to medical colleges.

For NEET PG 2022 round 1 counselling, MCC earlier today announced the removal of postgraduate seats from two medical colleges. The Gandhi Medical College in Bhopal and the BJ Government Medical College in Ahmedabad provided the Committee with information that allowed it to eliminate certain seats from the Round 1 seat matrix. Tomorrow, September 23, is the last day to register for the 50% All India Quota (AIQ) phase of NEET PG 2022 counselling.
