Karti P Chidambaram, an MP, has asked the Union Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan to step in and lessen the requirements for those taking the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2023 and JEE Advanced 2023 as a one-time occurrence. The Congress politician sent the minister a letter requesting leniency for those who had their last try in the 2022 test.
Chidambaram drew attention to the worries expressed by those who took the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Mains and Advanced in 2022. These applicants put in a lot of effort to get into India’s top engineering schools but were faced with impediments beyond their control, stopping them from having a reasonable chance at the test.
The MP claimed that the JEE Main 2022 exams conducted in June and July were plagued with a lot of technical issues, such as computers shutting down frequently, screens freezing for minutes, questions taking too long to appear, and incomplete queries. This led to a drastic reduction in scores and percentiles for many candidates.
Additionally, a number of students were not able to take the JEE Main 2022 exam as the test centers were changed at the last minute. After the test, many contenders also noticed inconsistencies in the answer sheets and mistakes in the JEE Main 2022 outcomes.
A large number of students who encountered issues in JEE Main or JEE Advanced had their last chance at these exams this year. For those graduating in 2020 from Class 12, this was their last opportunity for both JEE Main and JEE Advanced, and for students graduating in 2021, this was their last opportunity for JEE Advanced, according to the letter.
I strongly suggest that you take action and grant a single exception to ease the eligibility requirements for all students taking the JEE Main and Advanced exams in 2023. This will help to eliminate the need to single out specific students who encountered challenges during the 2022 exams,” Chidambaram continued.
